Carcharodontosaurus

Carcharodontosaurus was a giant theropod dinosaur that lived during the Middle Cretaceous (93-100 million years ago) in the region of North West Africa, spanning from Morocco to Niger.

The genus Carcharodontosaurus is named after the shark genus Carcharodon (itself named from the Greek καρχαρο (karcharo) meaning "jagged" or "sharp" and οδοντο (odonto) meaning "teeth")), and σαυρος (sauros), meaning "lizard" — "Carcharodon lizard".
