This Asaphiscus trilobite is large for the species and centered nicely on a squared piece of shale.

Description: Details

Quarried from near Delta, Utah, these trilobites come from one of the USA's largest Cambrian Age outcrops! Specimens like this found in the shale layer make for beautiful contrast against the grey colored matrix and pitch black calcite fossil for study or display specimens.

These trilobites were thought to have been scavenging feeders in cold waters, along the sea floors, eating dead remnants and algae, traversing the oceans in large schools.

Rather than the basic "steel wool" prep, this has been micro-blasted in a lab setting for ultimate detail preservation of the specimen.
