A unique and almost never offered for sale, a complete specimen of the fish Semionotus from New England. The locality from which this fossil is from is a classic site that is now closed and inaccessible. Fossil fish from New England are rare, but Triassic Fossil Fish are near unheard of, no matter where in the world you are.

As a common feature of the rock in this quarry, the fish had to be retrieved from two split rocks, pieced together and then prepared out.

Semionotus ("Flag-Back") is an extinct genus of ray-finned fish found throughout Northern Pangaea (North America and Europe) during the late Triassic, becoming extinct in the Early Jurassic.
