Acastoides cf zguilmensis (Chatterton et. al., 2006)
Middle Devonian (390 Million Years)
Unknown Formation, Tazggaght, Mt. Issourmour, Morocco
This species of trilobite was first described in the region as being from the type locality at Foum Ziguid, however these come from a very small horizon near the village of Tazggaght, at the base of Mt. Issoumour. This is only one of a few trilobites we have ever seen from this locality. A very rare and dramatic piece for any collection.
Acastoides is an extinct genus of trilobite that lived during the Silurian and Devonian. It has been found in Bolivia, France, Morocco, Poland, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
