Walliserops lindoei (Chatterton & Gibb, 2010)
Walliserops are some of the most well known and bizarre looking trilobites to have been found in Southern Morocco. Four major types are known, this one being from a group of an newly species of Walliserops, not quite the thin trident as is W. hammi and W. tridens, nor the elongated trident as W. trifurcatus. All species of Walliserops possess a three-pronged "trident" that protrudes from the head.
Specimens like this are prepared using lab equipment to delicately remove the hard limestone from the fossil, a combination of chisels and abrasives reveal the wonderfully preserved fossils. Well over 100 + work hours are put into cleanings specimens like this one here.
