Pseudocryphaeus minimus (Morzadec, 2001)
Middle Devonian (410 Million Years)
Ihandar Formation, Mt. Issoumour, Maider Region, Alnif, Morocco
Expertly cleaned by one of our trusted trilobite fossil preparators, here is a specimen we just brought back from our trip to Morocco in November 2014. No restoration or filler has been used to prepare this specimen. It is as found and expertly cleaned. Taking hours to days at a time for a single specimen, pneumatic chisels and air abrasives are used to expose specimens as these.
Presented here is s very strange looking trilobite that was commonly known as "Cryphina" prior to proper diagnosis. Famous for it's sharp snout and detailed eyes. You can almost imagine this small little trilobite zipping around a primitive ocean floor.
Trilobite : 0.59 x 0.51 inch / 1.5 x 1.3 cm
